I am excited to take on the role of Executive Director at The Mews! I want ALL of you to know my office door is always open and only a phone call away! More often than naught, however, you will find me walking around The Mews. I am a resident of Redding, CT, happily married for 42 years (we went to nursery school together), have three children and as of 3 weeks ago a granddaughter named Edythe. My wife has been teaching for 23 years at an Elementary School in Brookfield and is an avid gardener and reader. My daughter heads the children’s division of an independent bookstore chain in San Francisco. My oldest son received his graduate degree from Fairfield University in Special ED and teaches autistic children in Trumbull. The youngest son is a recent graduate for Muhlenberg College and is now working at an in-vestment firm in Wilton. I did my graduate work at Washington and Lee in Lexington VA majoring in Asian Studies and obtained a Masters of Inter-national Affairs degree at Columbia University in New York with emphasis on Contemporary China. I have spent over 35 years in business, traveling worldwide (and over trips to China under my belt), working with a batik importer, a Swedish trading company, and eventually running my own import and wholesale furniture business for over 25 years. For the past 3 years I have been working in the non-profit field as Community Employment Liaison. Dave Noone is a dear friend of mine. We refer to each other as “dump buddy” based on our Saturday trip each week to the town recycling center which gives us time to catch up. Over the past few years I had visited Dave at The Mews. Little did I know then where that would take me! I look forward to being part of this community!
